25th Anniversary Celebration

The Courtyard of Loveland Assisted Living Celebrates 25 Years

25th anniversary

The Courtyard of Loveland Assisted Living celebrated its silver anniversary on June 25th, 2014. For the past 25 years, the mission of The Courtyard of Loveland has transformed the experience of senior living in Loveland to allow residents to lead a full, supporting, and enriched life nurtured in a gracious atmosphere of dignity and well being. A unique senior living community unlike any other in Northern Colorado.

Why are we so unique? The Courtyard is owned and operated by three local Loveland professional women who share a collective concern for the quality of life for seniors. Kay von Metzger RN, Donna Larson, and Linda Vernon had all experienced firsthand the lack of available options for their senior loved ones. Kay commented, “My father needed daily help but did not need a nursing home environment. The three of us joined forces to provide a full complement of quality care and services for the elderly and disabled.” In 1989 The Courtyard of Loveland became the first assisted living facility to offer as an alternative to nursing home placement.

Each owner’s expertise has contributed to the success of The Courtyard of Loveland.  “We believe wholeheartedly in creating a wholesome, healthy assisted living environment”  said owner Donna Larson. Still active in the overall onsite management of the Courtyard, the three “ladies” as the Director JoAnne Gattoni refers to them, have lived and operated businesses in the Loveland and Berthoud. Kay owned a home care business for 14 years services the elderly and disabled. She reviews and monitors the Courtyard health and medical policies and ensures proper medical procedures are followed.  Donna is a retired teacher, general contractor, and farm manager. Donna oversees the building operations and monitors the financial health of the Courtyard. Linda owns a retail clothing store, Designs, in Fort Collins and has been in home and commercial design for over thirty years.  “I enjoy creating a beautiful home like atmosphere throughout the building and in our blooming outdoor garden.”

Their friendship and partnership has remained strong and committed. Thank you for joining us in celebrating these amazing ladies and 25 years of success in providing quality care for our seniors in our community.
